From the very beginning of the fourth campaign, new Dungeon Master Brennan Mulligan has kept viewers on edge with extensive world-building, a diverse cast of heroes, and a thrilling plot showcasing angels, fiends, and malevolent powers growing in influence within the urban setting.

The Combat-Oriented Party Unveiled
Episode 3 concluded with a huge suspense moment and introduced the first table of characters who will separate from the main group to embark on their separate journey, distinct from the additional parties.
This warrior group consists of the determined fighter (played by Travis Willingham), the agile character (Laura Bailey), the strong-willed figure (Whitney), the cleric (Sam), and Kattigan Vale (the actor).
The Reason for Division
With a large ensemble, it was clear from the outset that maintaining everyone at a single group would be impossible.
Hence, the first four episodes of the new season serve as an Prelude, weaving together the individual narratives before splitting into three distinct groups: Soldiers, Planners, and Seekers.
What Defines the Warrior Group
Per Brennan Lee Mulligan, the combat-focused party is for adventurers who enjoy a typically action-packed combat and conflict-driven story mode where non-violent answers are rare.
Initially, characters like the squeamish cleric Wicander might appear mismatched, but the developments of the latest installment demonstrate why these five characters are best suited for the Soldiers table.
Why They Must Go
To begin with, the team has a clear idea where to proceed after a intense initial meeting with The Crow Keepers.
An old friend of the deceased character—whose demise kicked off the narrative’s action—exploited the foes for his selfish purposes, breaking into the hidden lair, striking the character, and swiping all the enchanted items to auction.
The antagonist then cleared his debts and fled to a Halovar stronghouse in the remote area, north of the city, with Cyd Pridesire pursuing him.
Individual Reasons
Secondly, each character has a specific drive to leave the city the urban setting:
- The agile hero, as the companion and best friend, wants vengeance.
- The adventurer knows the region and warns that it is a dangerous location.
- Tyranny and The healer, having disobeyed his family’s wishes to execute Teor and instead freed him, have nowhere else to go.
- Yet, their reputation as key figures in the powerful family could help the team enter places they usually can’t.
- Additionally, The grateful character swore a unbreakable promise to Wicander for his deliverance and will now follow him wherever.
Fugitives
Lastly, all of them are hunted by the rulers that rule the setting for a range of causes, making lingering locally no longer safe:
- The agile adventurer and The hero are notorious outlaws.
- The strong figure and The cleric turned against House Halovar and the legion of demons they are allied with.
- The fighter is marked for death by the clan.
This results in them no alternative but to travel to the northern region in pursuit of Casimir.
Upcoming Developments
According to episode three’s Cooldown, we find out that the Soldiers table will be absent in the upcoming installment, leaving the other eight cast members to form the Explorers and Planners groups.
Fans can look forward to learning which players will be where in the story’s last Overture episode, available to watch on the upcoming Thursday.
