Nineteen of Daniil Medvedev's 21 victories have been won on hardcourt
A resurgent Medvedev secured his initial title for over two years with victory over opponent Moutet in the tournament final.
Medvedev, a ex- top-ranked player, has experienced a challenging year, managing just one win at the Grand Slams and experiencing a meltdown at the US Open.
His unpredictability on the professional circuit - and issues with his serve in particular - caused him exiting of the elite rankings and eventually splitting with former mentor Gilles Cervara.
Presently collaborating with his coach and Rohan Goetzke, Medvedev has steadily advanced in the last few weeks - climaxing in a closely contested competitive victory over opponent Moutet.
This represents the player's initial title following the Rome competition and first on a hardcourt after March of 2023.
Victory also signifies he has won 21 championships at twenty-one different events.
"It's the first time I have attended a tournament with my two daughters at once, so to secure a trophy is especially meaningful," commented ranked player the champion.
"This title is in honour of my second daughter Victoria, because the initial championship I won when my first daughter Alisa was born was for her."
The tennis star, the past champion, had failed in his last six championship matches, comprising in Halle previously this season.
Medvedev's defensive play style and regular reactions on the tennis court had caused observers to question if his ability to compete at the highest level was finished.
Yet the 29-year-old has made changes in the past month, attempting to advance forward and perform positively, reinforced by an enhanced serve.
The champion recovered from a break down in the first set against the challenging opponent, winning 4 of the final five games to go ahead.
The pair traded service breaks in the middle set before Moutet, striving for his initial tour championship, gained dominance to create a decider.
He saved four early-game break points in a close third set before Medvedev broke to that score to secure the win.
Fittingly, Medvedev secured the title with a rally at the net, with his opponent incapable to manage a return after a lengthy match.
